It gives me great pleasure to inform you that, the AHC Board has sceduled the Annual General Body Meeting for 2002 Insha Allah on, Saturday, September 7th at 1:00 pm at M.C.A.

This year the AHC Board have several very important items to discuss with you, The more important ones being:
- Elections- We have three open 2-year positions for the AHC Board (Nomination form enclosed)
- Corporate format change for Ameen Housing Coop
- Proposed amendments to AHC By Laws (Appendix A enclosed)
- Status of the Co-op
The text of the AGB Meeting Invitation letter from our President Dr. Sabir Khan is attached below and contains more information.
Your package should also be arriving via the U.S. mail by the end of next week. Please do have this event on your agenda for the above date and plan to attend. Please send us your RSVP form and Election Nomination form by August 28th, 2002. The mailing address is on the Form.

We would like to invite you to our upcoming Annual General Body Meeting:
Date: Saturday, September 7th, 2002
Time: 1:00 PM
Location: M.C.A. Islamic Center Community Hall, 3003
Scott Blvd. Santa Clara, CA 95052
The primary purpose for the meeting is to give the members a status of AHC’s progress during the past year. We also have 3 open positions (each for two year duration) on the Board and intend to have an election for this purpose. We urge you to send in the nominations and take part in selection of capable and responsible board members who can carry forward the growth and success of this organization. Eligible nominees and nominators have to be members of the Ameen Housing Co-Operative of California.
Because of the class of our Corporation, currently our income is taxed twice: once at the Corporate rate and then again each individual investor pays tax on the dividend In an effort to provide maximum benefit to investors and eliminate double taxation we are looking into modifying the corporate format of AHC. This may involve closing the current Corporation and re-registering as a different entity, while keeping the business same. We are also proposing a change in the By-Laws of AHC. The details of the proposed change is attached in Appendix A.
We have made arrangements for lunch as a show of appreciation of your continued support. We request that you RSVP at the earliest and attend the event with this invitation letter. This will help us, to estimate the number of attendees and will save us the cost of organizing a second meeting in case the quorum is not met. We encourage you to bring potential new members to the meeting and include them on your RSVP confirmation sheet. For your convenience, we have included a nomination form, an attendance confirmation form, and a pre-printed stamped envelope for mailing.
